Electronic identity by SuisseID

Swiss standard and infrastructure for an electronic identity

The creation of SuisseID brought forth a Swiss electronic identity standard to boost e-economy. Since May 2010, you can prove your identity digitally using a standardized certificate. In addition, so-called SuisseID identity provider services vouch for attributes such as age, occupation, function and official authorization.

To enable fast implementation, SuisseID was designed as a slim, modular extensible solution based on recognized standards such as X.509 certificates, SAML 2.0, WS-Trust and the ZertES law. SuisseID is thus a generic, interoperable and future-proof standard. It has been established in consultation with all stakeholders and become a commercially attractive product that meets highest security standards and will be self-sustaining in the medium term.

Three of AdNovum's top experts were instrumental in the conception and design of SuisseID. In the subsequent implementation phase, AdNovum has also implemented and productively installed the initial core identity providers and claim assertion services (CAS) of the certificate service providers.
